Leslie Rivera is the eldest child to Herman Badger III and Lucy Badger from New Haven, Connecticut. Leslie is a Queer Puerto Rican whom through happenstance stumbled upon Veganism.

As a late diagnosed Audher, you can often find them online in social justice and advocacy spaces. This would come as no surprise to those that have loved and known her.

At the tender age of 35, they find themselves reckoning with their past experiences and traumas around s*xual assault and familial molestation, houselessness, substance use, and all that comes with being a late diagnosed Audher. As the founder of the CommunityFridgeSATX and as a progressive, they stand firm in their dedication to food and environmental justice for both the San Antonio community, which has been their home for well over a decade, and their patria, Boríken, or as you all may regard it, Puerto Rico. 

Their hope is to honor their past commitment to pivot and try something new, by way of the Texas Eats Green project . Her mission will always be to create the world that they wished existed for their Abuela Josefina, Tío Felix, Titi Emma, and Abuelo Samuel. As displaced boricuas, their family came to America seeking economic stability and good health. That is not what they received. 

As it stands, Leslie seeks to shine a light on the pervasive environmental injustices that continue to negatively impact Puerto Ricans and Taínos on the mainland, within the Diaspora, and what is known as the island outside of the island, Vieques.
